Thought I would show some work I have been doing on making more scenic bases for my Post Human Republic for the Dropzone Commander Rule Set. I envision my PHR walking through streets of rubble strewn cities or the ruins of ancient civilizations.
I just snap some 1/4 inch plasticard into different shapes and sizes and glue them down onto a 30mm round base. I make the patterns varied on all of the bases.
The next stage is to add some life to the plasticard. I take multiple blades, drills and clippers and just attempt to create damage to these concrete/slate slabs.
Then I add some basing material around the edges and even on the plasticard itself.
And the base with a pair of walker legs on it. After the model gets painted I will add grass/moss and the like to the base.
That's it for today. Been doing a little bit more painting on the Force on Force British, but nothing really to show off yet.

Post Human Republic for Dropzone Commander
So I have slowly been cleaning, building and magnetizing my PHR for Dropzone commander and even got in a demo game with Chris Ward at Collectormania in Parker, Colorado.
I need to take some more pictures, but here is a quick look at something I think it pretty sweet
I have magnetized the torso of all of my walkers so far, and magnetized the connection point on the dropships and top of the walker. They are really small magnets and are drilled in so when the models are painted you won't be able to notice them. I have removed the current bases from the walkers and will replace them with 30mm rounds later. This however will make it to where I can't put 2 walkers on a dropship at the same time as their bases will collide, but I really enjoy based models.
I have also bought some MASKFX from Critical Mass games. It is essentially a template for camo designs when you airbrush models. I will be painting my PHR in a digital urban camo. Hopefully I can get started on the actual painting relatively soon.

I'm Back... Planning
You may have noticed a lack of posts from me lately. I took a short hiatus from miniatures of all sorts for a while. I actually got into:
I would have never thought in a million years I would enjoy that game... but I do.
Work has also been hectic. I'm trying to work on a promotion and I have been working 6 days most weeks. I missed out on the Colorado Military Historian's mini convention due to work so I literally have done nothing on the gaming front.
I missed the deadline for game submissions for the Tacticon book, but I will still be submitting games for Force on Force and you will be able to find their postings online. I will be hosting 1 game Friday evening/night and 2 games on Saturday. The listing will be rather generic as I am not 100% set on a scenario, but it will be set in Afghanistan. I really want to get my Cold War Gone Hot stuff done, but I just don't have the time right now. However, I promise to put on a Cold War Gone Hot game for Genghis Con next year.
I did get a bunch of vehicles from S&S Models and Britannia Miniatures that I need to do a review of. Both companies offer some resin models in 20mm that you just can't find via the various plastic kit companies out there (or die cast for that matter)
So here is hope to a whole bunch of new posts with shiny pictures.
Speaking of shiny, check this website out
